山东省学位英语考试阅读猜词答题技巧

在山东省学位英语考试的阅读理解中，难免会遇到生词，掌握有效的猜词技巧能帮助我们更好地理解文章，提高答题准确率。

根据定义或解释猜词是常用方法之一。如果文章中出现“Anthropology is the scientific study of man.”，“is”后面的内容就是对“Anthropology”的定义，由此可知它是“人类学”的意思。同样，“The herdsman, who looks after sheep, earns about 6000 yuan a year.” 中“who looks after sheep”是对“herdsman”的解释，所以“herdsman”是“牧羊人” 。

通过对比关系也能猜词。像“Jane was talking with others while Eliza remained reticent all the time.”，“while”表示对比，说明“reticent”和“talking with others”意思相反，由此可推测“reticent”是“沉默寡言的” 。还有“Most of us agreed; however, Bill dissented.” ，“however”表转折，“dissent”和“agreed”意思相反，即“不同意” 。

利用因果关系猜词也很实用。“The river is so turbid that it is impossible to see the bottom even when it is shallow.”，因为河水浑浊（turbid）所以看不到水底，可猜出“turbid”是“浑浊的” 。再如“He is so stingy that he never gives anything to others, even his friends or relatives.” ，他从不给别人东西，可推出“stingy”是“吝啬的” 。

根据上下文的语境和常识也能猜测词义。“The football game will be postponed if it rains tomorrow.”，根据常识，下雨可能会使足球比赛推迟，所以“postponed”是“推迟”的意思。还有“An apple falls down instead of up because of gravity.” ，结合物理常识，苹果下落是因为重力，可猜出“gravity”是“重力” 。掌握这些猜词技巧，能让我们在阅读中更顺畅地理解文章，减少生词带来的障碍，在学位英语考试的阅读理解部分取得更好的成绩。
